Message of the German Consul General, Dr. Christian Brecht

It gives me great pleasure to address all members and friends of the Pakistan German Business Forum through its newly updated website. Our two countries, Pakistan and Germany, are currently facing a difficult economical situation due to the worldwide economical turndown. Our enterprises and business people have to address these difficulties and to work hard to counteract. This is the time where PGBF, under its new leadership, can be of great importance: to further expand Pakistan and German trade and business relations and thereby contribute to a beneficial economical growth in our two countries. In my capacity as the new German Consul General in Karachi and as Patron of PGBF I would like to underline the following points:

- The long awaited registration which has finally been achieved in summer 2008 ist the first step into the direction of a Pakistan-German Chamber of Commerce. Now that the formalities are completed the profile of PGBF has to live up to such a high ambition,

- PGBF should strive to become a valuable partner for the German Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry,

- PGBF should be able to deliver a high quality service to German enterprises and to the German Chambers of Commerce and other organisations in Germany informing them about the existing potential of business opportunities in Pakistan and enhancing match-making possibilities.

If we stick to these goals and to high standards, nothing can go wrong. I am  confident that the combined efforts of PGBF and the German Consulate General will help us to reach our common goals. With this in mind I wish PGBF under its new leadership as much succes as possible and look forward to a fruitful cooperation.
