PGBF is a registered body U/S 32 of the Companies Ordinance 1984 of Pakistan. The Forum has been granted a license from Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Company Registration Office, Karachi MISSION AND VISION STATEMENT Pakistan German Business Forum's Mission and Vision is to encourage, nurture, and promote bilateral business, mutual understanding, and friendly relationships between the industrial, service and business communities of Pakistan and Germany and the consequential effects should be beneficial for the entrepreneurs, governments, service providers, and general public of both the countries INTRODUCTION Pakistan German Business Forum was formed on the 3rd of December 1997 with the active support and co-operation of German Ambassador to Pakistan who is our Patron-in-Chief as well as the German Consul-General in Karachi, Dr. Axel Weishaupt actively supported PGBF in 1997. We have so far more than 190 members, who constitute Corporate Members (German Origin Companies), Members (Agents of German Companies) and Associate Members (Trading Partners). AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 1. To encourage and promote German investment in Pakistan and vice versa and to do all things conducive for the development of Pakistan-German Business co-operation. 2. To promote the development of trade, commerce and economic co-operation between the two countries. 3. To foster and organize trade and investment delegations, trade fairs, exhibitions, symposiums, lectures, etc, and facilitate participation in international fairs and exhibitions in the two countries. 4. To obtain, evaluate and circulate trade and investment related data, information and economic statistics among members, to publish and support publications, bulletins or any other information/material beneficial or useful in the interests of trade and investment. 5. To provide a channel of communication within the business community with the Government of Pakistan, between the Forum and representatives of the German Government. 6. To establish an independent body by Pakistani and German businessmen in order to promote interests with regard to relationship between Pakistan and Germany. 7. The elected representatives of PGBF consisting of chief executives and heads of various German companies and also Pakistani companies is a blend of professional business people, who are running the affairs of the Forum as a private sector entity. PGBF is playing a key role in not only creating awareness of this institution, but is also actively involved in increasing trade volume between Pakistan and Germany and also encouraging and fostering relationship for the purpose of enlarging investment activities in Pakistan. For the information of our members, both local and abroad, we publish a bi-monthly newsletter containing useful information about trade fairs and exhibitions to be held in Germany as well as activities of PGBF in the form of seminars, workshops and interaction programmes for the welfare of our members. Also, we have developed a database regarding German and Pakistani suppliers. We provide this information free of charge to our members upon request. It is also the desire of PGBF to create awareness in German institutions and trade bodies, including various German Chambers of Commerce & Industry, with a view to having an easy access to information on partnership basis for the mutual benefit of our members both in Pakistan and Germany.
