Q. What does PGBF stand for?
A. PGBF is an acronym for Pakistan German Business Forum.
Q. What is PGBF and what are its aim and objectives?
A. PGBF was founded in December 1997 primarily with the
objective to develop, promote, facilitate and support trade and
investment activities between Pakistan and Germany, with the
active support and co-operation German Ambassador to Pakistan
who is our Patron-in-Chief and German Consul General who is our
Patron.
Q. How does PGBF promote and advance its
objectives?
A. To achieve the objective of promoting trade and investment
between Pakistan and Germany PGBF engages in an number of
activities. It organizes various seminars, workshops and
discussion by inviting leading personalities from government and
private sector. It supports and facilitates trade and investment
delegations to Germany and Pakistan. It arranges catalog
exhibitions and fair in various cities of the two countries. It
publishes a bi-monthly newsletter “Connection”. It has developed
an interesting and informative website. It also organizes social
activities and functions.
Q. Is any other organization in Pakistan
operating with similar objectives?
A. No, PGBF is the only recognized trade body working
exclusively for the promotion of bilateral trade and investment
between Pakistan and Germany.
Q. Does PGBF has the support of German
government and institutions?
A. Yes, PGBF is strongly supported by the German Ambassador to
Pakistan who is the Patron-in-Chief and German Consul General
who is the Patron. Various German and Pakistani government
agencies as well as trade institutions also support PGBF. It has
signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mannheim Chamber of
Commerce, Germany (IHK). It is also recognized by the Federation
of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCC&I) as the
sole institution representing Pakistani and German trade
interests.
Q. What is the structure of PGBF?
A. An elected board of director, consisting of President, Vice
President and 10 Executive Directors who are elected for a
2-year period, manages PGBF.
Q. What different types of membership exits, entry fees and
annual subscription?
A. Three different categories of membership are in existence;
1. Category A: German Companies
Entrance Fees: Rs. 20,000 Annual Subscription: Rs. 20,000
2. Category B: Agents for German Companies and Joint Venture
Partners
Entrance Fees: Rs. 10,000 Annual Subscription: Rs. 10,000
3. Companies with interest in bilateral relations
Entrance Fees: Rs. 8,000 Annual Subscription: Rs. 8,000
Q. How can I become a member of PGBF?
A. Just fill out the attached Membership From, get it signed by
the Proposer and Seconder and submit in to PGBF office along
with requisite payment in the form of Cash/Cheque or Pay Order.
The Board of Directors then scrutinizes the Membership Form for
approval.
